There is an update to the HPC software stack, bringing xCAT to 2.14.6.lenovo3, based on 2.14.6, and confluent is brought to 2.4.0.

Here are some of the highlighted changes:

Discovery support for xClarity Controller 3.0

The xClarity controller 3.0 institutes a mandatory password change. With this change, new discovery code was required. This further requires the administrator select a password distinct from the factory default. It is further recommended to select a distinct username than the default (e.g. do not use USERID).

Support for Red Hat 8 management, service and compute servers

RedHat 8 and equivalent Linux distributions are now available through the yum and downloads pages.

Enhanced support for ThinkSystem SR635 and SR655 models

The SR635 and SR655 are now supported for enhanced functionality, including firmware updates, discovery, UEFI configuration, and enhanced inventory. It additionally implements an IPMI-free console plugin called tsmsol to be used in conjunction with the redfish plugin for environments that do not want to use IPMI. While redfish and tsmsol is supported, IPMI is the recommended plugin for full function and fastest performance.

Added support for deleting collective members

collective command can now delete members. This is helpful for permanently resizing a collective even down to deleting all other members to disable collective mode.

More functionality for CNOS switches

nodeinventory now shows the serial number for CNOS switches and nodefirmware displays current firmware information.
